Mag. Heinz Nusser

From 2004 to 2016 he was managing director and partner of an international consulting company, before that controller and independent management consultant in regional development and columnist for “Die Presse”. Heinz Nusser is a lecturer at several universities and since July 2016 has been Senior Consultant at Martschin & Partner GmbH with a focus on CSR communication.
It all began in 1996, when Johannes Martschin was working as a senior consultant in a young PR agency that had just made it into the top ten agencies in Austria – when a freelance art director unexpectedly invited him to join a project partnership for the design of a Mozart exhibition.
This long-awaited opportunity for self-employment was readily seized. And the two sole proprietors moved into a, shall we say, aspirational office in Josefstädter Straße in Vienna. It had a toilet in the corridor – without electricity by romantic candlelight -, a small oil stove for 3 rooms and other unusual features, thanks to which client appointments could only take place at the client’s premises and in coffee houses.
It was a difficult start-up year. The planned Mozart exhibition did not materialise. But the two young entrepreneurs quickly won clients, gave up their joint non-office and moved into new premises as their own agencies, which were also “nice” for the first time.
With his agency “Martschin & Partner” Johannes Martschin consistently pursued his ideas for integrated communication. The first clients, such as Aral, Vichy, the Austrian natural food trade, several ministries as well as numerous organic pioneers and organic brands, confirmed this orientation.
In 1997, as a communication expert, always interested in the “whole”, he received a teaching assignment for “Rhetorical Communication” at the Institute for German Studies at the University of Vienna. His courses were subsequently among the highest rated at the institute for over 10 years. The successes of his agency during these years became exemplary for entire industries and developments, such as the AMA|EU organic campaign from 2002-2006, which is one of the most successful organic campaigns in Europe and has received several awards. Austria became the No. 1 organic country in Europe during this period.
2009 saw the repositioning of the agency. It was able to draw the consequences from the changing advertising and communications landscape at an early stage and abandoned all advertising services. Since then, Martschin & Partner has been an agency for strategic communications consulting and full-service PR and has thus, in a sense, returned to its roots.
It is now one of Austria’s leading agencies in the fields of Health & Medicine, Science & Education, Culture & Tourism and Sustainable Development.
